I am looking to hire both an automotive technician and a service advisor in West Seattle with the availability to start as soon as possible.
Please read full ad and reach out via email with resume, 3 references, and a few sentences about yourself and why you think you’d be a great fit. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Do not call the shop or show up in person unless scheduled for an interview.
We are a growing independent repair shop located in West Seattle. We currently have two other Seattle locations, and recently purchased the West Seattle location from its former owners. We have been in this location for 5 months, and are looking to expand our staff to meet the needs of this location. This is a Monday-Friday 7am-5:30pm position, with no weekends. This ad is only for the West Seattle location and I am hiring both technicians and service advisors. (We are not looking for purely diagnostic or express/lube techs at this time). Pay plan will be discussed at interview and provided before any offers. We do provide employer matched healthcare. We also pay direct deposit weekly.
What I’m looking for in a technician:
- At least 2 years experience working professionally as a technician, (not including lube tech/express experience).
- MUST have your own tools
- Ability to reliably commute to the West Seattle location.
- Someone who can work independently and has experience and confidence working in both diagnostic and major repairs.
- Clean driving record.
- Someone who is friendly, communicative, and a self starter.
What I’m looking for in a service advisor:
- At least 2 years experience working as a main shop service advisor
- Ability to reliably commute to West Seattle
- Exceptional phone skills and willingness to make 20 call backs per day during slow periods
- Excellent customer service skills and the drive to go above and beyond for your clients
- Ability and confidence upselling
- Exceptional communication skills
- Great organizational skills
- Experience with Tekmetric is a plus
Who I am as the manager:
I believe that respect is a given, but it must be mutual. You can always rely on me, but I need to be able to consistently rely on you too. I believe in encouraging work/life balance for my staff. If you’re sick, don’t come to work. If you need to leave to take care of a sick kid, just let me know. I want you to spend time with your families. I want you to take the vacation. As long as you’re able to produce while you’re at work and can reliably show up, I will always do my best to be understanding and accommodating. I don’t tolerate work drama. We are servicing a variety of clients in our community every single day, I do not tolerate hateful, crude or offensive comments at work. This applies to everyone that walks through our door, including other staff. Doing so will result in immediate dismissal of your employment. I want you to succeed for not only our store, but yourself. I will always do my best to make sure you have the resources you need at any given moment and to always show up as the kind of manager that you need from me. I have an open door policy and will always be open to address your comments or concerns. That being said, I also expect you to be able to work quickly and efficiently, and not require constant supervision. I need you to be precise, accurate, and confident in the work you produce. If you are not a self starter, are not quick to recover from unexpected set backs, and cannot prove consistent and dependable work—this shop is not for you.
If it sounds like you’re the perfect fit for either a technician or a service advisor position, email me a copy of your resume, 3 professional references, and a few sentences about why you think you’d be a great candidate. Please do not call the shop or show up in person unless scheduled for an interview. Only complete applications will be considered. I am hiring a technician and advisor ASAP with the ability to start as soon as possible.
