Old Gibson A Model Mandolin - $1,850 (Seattle)

1918 Gibson "A Model" mandolin in natural finish, ink stamped SN.1811. Comes in a relatively new hardshell case. Also included is a vintage DeArmond #500 (by Rowe Ind.) electric pickup attachment that clips on to the strings below the bridge (works).

This was inherited from my wife's uncle a long time ago so I don't know much about its history. There is an edge ding (see photo). It was suggested by Dusty Strings that the mandolin might have had a factory refinish in the 40s or 50s as the headstock logo is not correct for the instruments age indicated by the serial number.

Sounds great and plays real well (as told to me by real mandolin players). I've figured out that mandolin is not ever going to be an instrument I will be able to play well. It's a beautiful instrument that should be played by someone that knows what they're doing.
