Enjoy Pacific Northwest Coastal Cruising on a family-sized boat with comfort and charm. The 1986 Nova Sundeck has enough room to carry kayaks, paddleboards, and more. The marina allows owners to stay on their boats 15 days per month even without live aboard status! This is a great option for out of town owners who want to have a home base during the summer boating season. The freshwater marina is close to the Chittendon Locks and gardens, as well as being in walking distance to restaurants and nightclubs. Parking is within a keyed gate that is closed to the public nights and weekends, so parking is never a problem.
Everything from the huge salon with teak and holly floors to the custom drapes cabinet feels luxurious for a vessel of this size and age. She has a huge flying bridge that can seat 6 comfortably on new canvas cushions and table. There is a canvas covered back deck which easily rolls up for an open area large enough for a table and chairs for those summer barbecues; and there is a wet bar and place for ice maker. Inside the salon has a beautiful captains chair and second helm station.
This boat is built for extended cruising. The Volvo Penta TMA 41 diesel engines are reliable and in wide use. She does not have teak decks, instead the Novas were stout fiberglass builds throughout except for the brightwork. Service records and specifications are available.
Numerous upgrades both cosmetic and mechanical have been made to keep Night Watch a perfect cruiser. The accommodations stayed true to her original decor, brass lighting, beautiful teak paneling, and a double bed guest cabin forward with a large head. There is diesel heat, two water tanks, and a Whale water heater for plenty of hot showers. The swim step has proper propane tank storage and room to add a tender. The galley has a 9.1 cubic foot DC Nova Kool refrigerator/freezer, microwave, double steel sink, and two burner Force 10 propane and oven & lots of storage for provisions.
The master suite is a captain’s delight with walk around queen bed, head/full shower, TV, cedar lined closet, additional hanging locker, room/plumbing for a washer dryer, teak drawers and vented cabinets as well as ample counter space.
This is a great way to enter into boating with minimal cost and yet have a solid boat suitable for the San Juans and beyond. Easy and convenient to marine services in Ballard, with a covered freshwater slip with dock box for even more storage. She is a solidly built in the trawler style with ample side decks and two salon doors for easy access during docking. Night Watch is a USCG Documented vessel.
