This is a new replacement unit I received directly from Dell after my previous Precision failed. The box has never been opened. The provenance is straightforward and fully documented: it came directly from Dell as a replacement unit and remains in the sealed Dell shipping box.
The “G” in CTO-G denotes Dell’s government-oriented CTO configuration/channel. This particular machine’s original Dell configuration also includes 379-BBBW — TAA Information, which can be verified through Dell using the Service Tag.

Current Retail Comparison
Comparable Precision 7680 systems with the i9-13950HX, 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD and RTX 2000 Ada are currently offered by both Best Buy Marketplace and Newegg at approximately $3,900. Those systems have been opened by third-party resellers for hardware upgrades and then resealed.
The Core i9-13950HX is a 55W HX-series processor with 24 cores and 32 threads, paired in this configuration with a discrete NVIDIA professional workstation GPU and Dell’s substantial dual-fan thermal system.
This configuration is particularly well suited to workloads where processor performance, memory capacity, professional graphics and fast local storage matter, including CAD/CAM and engineering, architecture and design, software development and compilation, Python and data analysis, large datasets and databases, virtual machines, scientific and technical applications, professional graphics and rendering, aerospace and manufacturing applications, and multi-monitor workstation use.
The combination of a 24-core/32-thread i9 processor, 64GB CAMM memory, 2TB Gen4 storage and RTX 2000 Ada professional graphics is materially different from the more common i7 / 32GB / 1TB Precision configurations.
Government / Enterprise Configuration
If government, defense-contractor, aerospace, or other regulated procurement requirements matter to a prospective buyer, the Dell documentation is available for review. The buyer should make its own determination as to whether a private-party acquisition satisfies its particular procurement requirements.
The exterior Dell packaging, identifying labels and factory seals can also be inspected before purchase.
