I am a dedicated drummer focused on pushing my technical skills, looking for short-term projects, sub opportunities, or remote recording work.
I am Seattle-based, but willing to drive for the right project. I have a private rehearsal space, set up for multitrack recordings. I read charts, but I can also write a part from a reference recording.
Jazz, funk, fusion, big band - are my preferred genres - but anything with more complex arrangements or technically challenging grooves would be of interest. Alternatively, if you need a dependable sub for more meat & potatoes drumming, I love the challenge of learning several sets of music on a tight deadline - and I will put in the time required to learn your material.
Stuff I have been shedding lately includes transcriptions of David Garibaldi's Squib Cakes, Dave Weckl's Mud Sauce, Max Roach's solo on St. Thomas.
Tell me a bit about your project with links, and I will be happy to respond with appropriate links of my playing.
Addendum: I am not desperate for playing opportunities so keep in mind that the audition process goes both ways - I won’t respond if all you can manage is a “do you have links” or “can you play this?” email.
