O.B. Williams Company has been building custom architectural woodwork in Seattle since 1889.
We have an immediate opening for an experienced cabinetmaker who can contribute to active shop projects, work from detailed shop drawings, and produce high-quality cabinetry and architectural millwork with limited supervision.
This is a hands-on bench cabinetmaking position—not a trainee, helper, or repetitive production role.
We build one-of-a-kind custom cabinetry, paneling, doors, mouldings, and architectural interiors for demanding residential and commercial projects. Every project is different, and every job requires craftsmanship, accuracy, and problem-solving.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Fabricate and assemble custom cabinetry and architectural millwork
• Read and interpret detailed shop drawings
• Perform precision fitting, assembly, and problem-solving
• Work closely with our CNC, Rough Mill, Door & Frame, Engineering, and Finishing departments
• Safely and efficiently operate professional woodworking equipment
• Take ownership of quality, accuracy, and production
• Maintain high standards while minimizing errors and rework
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Several years of professional cabinetmaking, architectural millwork, or closely related custom woodworking experience
• Ability to read detailed shop drawings and work independently
• Strong fitting, assembly, and general woodworking skills
• Experience in custom architectural woodwork or a commercial cabinet shop is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Reliable, organized, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to produce professional-quality work
We will consider candidates from other strong custom woodworking backgrounds who have the skills to contribute immediately. School or hobby experience alone is generally not sufficient for this position.
WHAT WE OFFER:
• $32–$39 per hour, depending on experience, plus benefits
• Medical benefits
• Retirement program
• Paid vacation and holidays
• Union benefits
• Long-term, stable employment with a company known for extremely low turnover
• Professional production environment
• Challenging custom projects rather than repetitive production work
• Team-oriented culture focused on craftsmanship, safety, and quality
This is an immediate opening. Qualified candidates are encouraged to reply with a résumé or a summary of their relevant cabinetmaking and architectural millwork experience.
