Well documented 1978 Mercedes-Benz 300CD coupe. 174,000 miles. Purchased directly from son of the original owner, who inherited it from his father. Having owned several classic Mercedes this is truly one of the nicest examples I’ve had.Single estate history from original owner family. Comes with the original purchase paperwork and decades of detailed maintenance receipts.
Strong OM617 diesel engine with zero blow-by. Starts right up and runs smoothly.
Shifts crisp and smooth through all gears.
In fantastic shape for its age seats and trim show very well.
Factory sunroof works properly. Bundt wheels sandblasted and repainted. Upgraded with LED headlights. New brakes.
Cons:
Clear coat is failing/peeling on the hood and roof (will need a respray to be cosmetically complete, but body metal is solid).
Blower fan currently only operates on single speed/defrost setting (common W123 climate control issue).
No accidents. Clean title in hand. $9,000 obo
