Well, we have finally decided it is time to find a new home for our Outback. We bought it new for our fifth wedding anniversary back in 2001, and it has been with us ever since. Hard to believe it has been 25 years already. That little Subaru has taken us on more family trips than we can count, and every one of our children learned to drive in it. After all these years, it feels like part of the family. Everyone has newer cars now, though, and we hardly drive it anymore. It seems a shame to have it sitting in the garage when someone else could be enjoying it. We have always believed that if you take care of things, they will take care of you. We kept it in the garage, changed the oil every 3,000 miles, and took it to our mechanic whenever something needed attention. About 10,000 miles ago, we had the head gaskets, timing belt, and water pump replaced. We also put on four new Firestone tires and had the brakes replaced around that same time. There is a cage in the back for our dog, to keep him from climbing into the rest of the car. He was quite happy back there. He had his spot, and he knew it! Everything still works as it should, even after all these years. It has never been in an accident, although we did have a little mishap in the Whole Foods parking lot that left some scratches on the front bumper. You can see those in the pictures. That is about the extent of the damage. We would be very happy to see it go to someone who will take good care of it, as we have. It has been a dear old car to our family, and we hope the next owner enjoys it for many years to come. Our niece will be showing it for us. She is a lovely girl, although her patience does wear a little thin sometimes, so do be kind to her. Ha ha! She will have the clean title and bill of sale ready so everything will be in order for the new owner.
