As a Tile / Shingle / Metal Roofing Foreman, you are responsible for leading and executing steep-slope roofing installation, replacement, repair, and maintenance projects in the field. This role oversees crew performance, jobsite execution, safety compliance, quality control, and customer communication while ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to TraVek’s workmanship standards.
The Roofing Foreman is the on-site leader and technical expert for tile, shingle, and metal roofing systems. You are accountable for proper system installation, flashing details, underlayment application, material staging, jobsite organization, and crew productivity. This position requires strong leadership, technical craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain quality and safety standards while meeting production timelines.
You will set the tone on the jobsite by leading with professionalism, accountability, urgency, and quality.
Crew Leadership & Management
Direct and supervise roofing crew members daily
Assign tasks and monitor productivity
Ensure proper installation techniques and adherence to manufacturer specs
Train and develop crew members in roofing craftsmanship
Maintain jobsite discipline and professionalism
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Operate and oversee use of roofing tools (nail guns, shears, seamers, brake, etc.)
Ensure ladders, lifts, fall protection, and tools are properly maintained
Identify equipment issues and coordinate repairs
Material Management
Oversee loading and unloading of roofing materials
Stage materials efficiently for safe and productive workflow
Track material usage and minimize waste
Ensure materials are protected from weather exposure
Jobsite Setup & Preparation
Ensure proper fall protection and safety systems are in place
Confirm access and staging areas are safe and efficient
Protect landscaping, driveways, and surrounding structures
Maintain clean and organized jobsite
Quality Control
Conduct daily jobsite quality inspections
Verify proper fastening patterns and installation methods
Inspect flashing details and water management components
Identify and correct workmanship deficiencies before final inspection
Minimize “go-back” or warranty issues
Cleanup & Close-Out
Ensure thorough daily cleanup
Conduct magnetic sweeps for nails and debris
Oversee proper disposal of materials
Complete punch list prior to final inspection
Safety Compliance
Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies
Ensure proper use of fall protection systems (harnesses, anchors, guardrails)
Conduct daily safety briefings
Report incidents or safety concerns immediately
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
3+ years experience in tile, shingle, or metal roofing installation required
Prior experience leading a crew strongly preferred
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and fall protection requirements
Experience with steep-slope roofing systems
Ability to read work orders, scopes of work, and plans
Basic computer/CRM skills for documentation and reporting
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
