His teeth were floated last month. His feet were just trimmed.
He had front shoes done two weeks ago.
He has his negative cognitive test. He has all of his updated vaccinations and he has already been dewormed approximately two months ago for precautionary reasons.
Slate  did amazing when he was on the track. He retired in 2020 he spent five years in a pony club  prior to me, adopting him.
Many youtube videos of him winning races.
Slate has a very sweet personality, and loves to be silly, hes great with getting hosed down, groomed, fly spray, blanketed, feet picked and doesn't spook at every bag.
He needs an experienced rider that knows the personality and temperament of thoroughbreds.
You do not have to know everything but he knows when he is treated right and respected and in return he gives that right back.
He does test his limits but aims to please.
Hes a bit pushy at times on the ground and will test your limits under the saddle. I feel being honest is key for a successful relationship. Yes hes beautiful and yes hes alot of horse.
But hes a good horse with a huge heart.
We are located in Schaumburg Illinois. I can not transport.
 I'm looking to find somebody that could love him as much as I do and give him the direction and training he deserves.
So if you're looking for the therapy of what horses bring, if you're looking for that unconditional love and best friend ; see if Slate is what your life might be missing.
He is the best therapy and support that I have found.
I am not experienced enough with training or setting firm boundries for us to be a good match, maybe 20 or 30 years ago, but not now.
He is not perfect, nor is any rider, but together, if your a match, you can learn together and grow not only the bond but a frienship; that is what true equestrianship is about.
