LSU PURPLE fig, in 3-gallon pots, $25; in 7-gallon, $55.
BEERS BLACK and VIOLETTE DE BORDEAUX fig varieties, only in 7-gallon containers, $55.
PLEASE NOTE: These are not the skinny, scrawny, scraggly, pathetic looking, half-dead specimens offered in the garden dept. of home improvement big box stores - or even regular nurseries - in 1-gallon pots. These are big, strong, vigorous, extremely healthy, rapidly-growing plants in 3-gallon and larger containers, with well-developed root systems. Some are bearing now.
If you have been told you can not grow figs in Florida. you have been GROSSLY MISINFORMED. You simply need the advice of a 40-years-of-experience-gardener and State of Florida registered Nurseryman - and that is myself. Figs grow and produce very well here in Florida, and love our sun and heat, but must be grown in large pots instead of our nematode-infested soils. That is the most important part - but only part - of what I will teach you.
All are in perfect soil mixture of bagged topsoil, planting soil, peat, perlite, and cypress mulch.
