The big selling point of this table is the lift top. It saves your aching back! You can LIFT the table top to bring your book/puzzle/boardgame/sewing closer to you on the sofa, rather than bending your back down to the table. My wife would use this so that she could sit straight while making beaded jewelry.

The surface is 41 inches x 19 inches. (It has a few small scratches, but we covered them with a decorative tablecloth.) The height is 18.5 inches when closed and 24.5 inches when open. We put our largest books in the central storage space. The material is wood laminate over particle board.
