This piece features a unique figure 8 layout on both sides, totaling four distinct images. This design was created to serve as a high-visibility centerpiece for the artist's promotional events when Terrapin Station was first released..
This piece was acquired through a long personal friendship with Alton (passed 2008). The signatures of both Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley were obtained in their presence in 1977. As a dual-signed prototype. Happy to provide further provenance.
Since Kelley's passing, the availability of witnessed items of this magnitude has become almost non-existent.
As you can see, one side has lightened up. Indirect sunlight. The condition is good but not perfect. It is what it is. This was a gift. I've gotten on in the years and hope to find a home for this, possibly one of a kind.
The frame is approximately 15.5 x 23.5 inches.
Both sides are signed.
