We are seeking an experienced, proactive Facility Manager to oversee our corporate office, central maintenance shop, and equipment yard. This role is vital to ensuring our field teams have the operational support, reliable equipment, and safe environment they need to perform at their best.
Position Overview
The Facility Manager will oversee the daily maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of company property, including office building, equipment yard, and maintenance shop. In addition to property management, this unique role in a concrete subcontracting environment involves heavy coordination with the Shop Foreman and Fleet Manager to optimize the layout, security, and storage of formwork, shoring systems, laser screeds, pumps, and raw materials.
Key Responsibilities
• Property & Yard Management: Oversee all operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the central office, warehouse, maintenance bays, and equipment staging yards. Ensure yards are organized efficiently for the logistics of heavy trucks and equipment loading/unloading.
• Preventative Maintenance: Establish and monitor comprehensive maintenance schedules for all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and security/gate systems).
• Space & Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with project logistics and warehouse teams to design space-planning solutions for storing extensive concrete inventory, including formwork, rebar accessories, and scaffolding.
• Security & Emergency Preparedness: Manage site access systems, security cameras, and perimeter fencing across yards to protect valuable tooling and fleet assets. Implement and update emergency response and disaster recovery plans.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in facility management, shop management, or yard operations, ideally within the construction industry.
• Education: High school diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Competencies: Exceptional organizational, problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple physical projects under tight deadlines.
• Physical Demands: Must be comfortable working in both an office setting and outdoor yard environments. Ability to walk rough terrain, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs
