Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Facility Engineer to join our hotel engineering and maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience maintaining hotel facilities, troubleshooting mechanical and building systems, and responding quickly and professionally to maintenance requests.
This position is responsible for keeping the hotel, guest rooms, common areas, equipment, and building systems operating safely and efficiently. The right candidate is a dependable problem solver who can work independently while providing excellent service to guests and hotel staff.
Key Responsibilities
-Perform preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel.
-Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and building systems.
-Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, housekeeping, front desk, and hotel management.
-Inspect guest rooms, public areas, mechanical rooms, and other hotel facilities.
-Perform repairs involving doors, locks, drywall, painting, flooring, fixtures, furniture, and general building maintenance.
-Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, pumps, boilers, water heaters, and other mechanical equipment.
-Perform basic electrical troubleshooting, including switches, outlets, lighting, breakers, and fixtures.
-Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, toilets, sinks, drains, valves, and water lines.
-Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and document completed work.
-Assist with inspections and maintenance of life-safety and building systems.
-Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
-Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are required.
-Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate outstanding issues to management.
-Respond to emergencies and urgent facility issues as needed.
-Follow all hotel safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and applicable building codes.
-Provide professional and courteous service to hotel guests and staff.
Qualifications
-3+ years of experience in hotel engineering, facility maintenance, building maintenance, or a related field.
-Strong hands-on knowledge of building maintenance and mechanical systems.
-Experience troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
-Ability to read basic equipment manuals, diagrams, and maintenance instructions.
-Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
-Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a busy hotel environment.
-Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
-Good communication and customer-service skills.
-Reliable, punctual, and professional.
-Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and maneuver equipment and materials.
-Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, evenings, or on-call shifts when required.
Preferred Qualifications
-Previous experience working in a hotel or resort environment.
-HVAC certification or strong HVAC experience.
-Electrical, plumbing, or mechanical certifications.
-Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
-Experience operating or maintaining boilers, chillers, pumps, generators, or other commercial building equipment.
-Knowledge of hotel maintenance systems and work-order software.
