Mid 2011 21.5-inch iMac - $100 (Terrell Hills)

I am not funding my retirement here, just thinking that someone may be able to use this stuff. Some things are listed here, some on eBay, some both.
Model: iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011)

CPU: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 — quad-core Sandy Bridge
RAM: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6750M, 512 MB
Current OS: macOS High Sierra 10.13.6
Native display: 1920 × 1080

The interesting part: it’s quite upgradeable
Unlike modern iMacs, this generation has some useful upgrade possibilities. 4 GB RAM is extremely limiting today. It has four RAM slots and can practically be upgraded to 32 GB (4×8 GB), despite Apple’s original documentation listing a lower maximum.
It also originally came with a mechanical hard drive in most configurations. Replacing that with a SATA SSD would make an enormous difference. An SSD + 16 or 32 GB RAM can turn it from painfully slow into a surprisingly usable machine.
There’s another interesting possibility: Linux. Since High Sierra is now extremely old and unsupported, this machine could make a decent Linux desktop. Given the age of the Radeon GPU, you should check compatibility before choosing a new distribution.
