Biography and other important papers with both Witness signatures and Notary signatures. The verified signatures are on stories about the very non-traditional relationship of the Academy Award nominated ACTRESS Terry Moore (AKA Mrs Howard Hughes) and MILLIONAIRE Howard Hughes. They were married to each other while married to others! That is what the 19 pages of stories and documents were put together for... to prove that she was still his wife legally so she could inherit from his estate.
These stories and notarized documents would definitely make a excellent book and/or movie.
Included 19 page document of stories plus 5 extra pages of interest.
PARTIAL SNIPPETS OF THE 19 PAGE DOCUMENT
1st: Probate Court Affidavit of Patricia Ann Mason, who declares under the penalty of perjury that the foregoing is a true and correct statement.
In part, Patricia Mason relates how her father-in-law, Dr. Mason (Hughes' doctor and close friend) was summoned by Howard Hughes to Germany where the pregnant Terry Moore was making a movie. Patricia Mason tells how Dr. Mason was upset because actress Moore had lost her baby due to lack of care there. (The signature on this affidavit is faded but the notary public is still viable.)
2nd: Probate Court Affidavit of Luella Koford, Terry Moore's (AKA Helen Koford's) mother.
In part, Luella tells that in 1949 she, aboard a ship with others, witnessed the wedding of her daughter, Terry Moore, to Howard Hughes by Captain Flynn. (This is signed by Luella Koford and also by a Notary Public.)
3rd: Probate Court Affidavit of Terry Moore.
A snippet of her story is, in part, that she only went through with a marriage to Glen Davis because Colombia Pictures insisted that her involvement with Howard Hughes was hurting her reputation. That she was literally forced into it by the studio. She only stayed with him 2 months before going back to Hughes.
Her later marriages to Stuart Cramer and then Eugene McGrath were due to her deep desire to bear children which Hughes refused to permit her to do.
Overall, Moore saw Hughes almost every day up to 1955, except when she had to be on location for movies. She never took any action to annul or dissolve her marriage to Hughes.
(Terry Moore signed this affidavit and there is a signature by a Notary Public)
4th: A 4 page, long-hand written letter to Howard Hughes by Terry Moore
In small part, she says that she's now the same age as Hughes was when they met (she was a teenager when she married him, he was 23 years older) and that basically that her marriage to Hughes is the only one that she ever believed in. That she knew now that she'd like to spend the rest of her life with him, etc.
(Terry signs it as "Helen", her real name)
5th: Affidavit by Robert F. Slatzer, director and producer in the Motion Picture and Television industry.
Excerpts from Robert Slatzer's affidavit: Robert Slatzer and Terry Moore became good friends in 1952 having had some personal and business conversations on the set of "Come Back Little Sheba".
During one of these conversations, he noticed that something was bothering her. She told him the fact that she felt guilty of bigamy being still legally married to Howard Hughes, and was having certain divorce problems with Davis. She made him swear to keep her secret until after the divorce.
Robert Slatzer noted several times, Hughes picking up Terry Moore or calling her.
Later Slatzer came to know Howard Hughes himself. In one of his conversation with Hughes, Hughes stated that he wanted to make provisions his "two wives", Terry Moore and Jean Peters, to insure that they both got $150,000,000 after his death. He then repeated that he had been married to Terry Moore and they had never been divorced.
(Both type-written pages by Robert Slatzer are signed by him with two different witnesses on page 1 and page 2)
6th: Handwritten Affidavit by John Meier
Between 1966 and 1970, John Meier was the scientific advisor to Howard Hughes working with him on a daily basis.
In 1969, John Meier had a telephone conversation with Howard Hughes in which Hughes said that he was married to Helen Koford (whom Meier later learned to be Terry Moore). Hughes stated to Meier that upon his death, Helen Koford would be responsible for directing where his funds would be spent.
(Signed by John Meier and a Notary Public)
7th: Affidavit by Frank Chambers
At the time of him writing this, Frank Chambers was working at General Dynamics Corporation in San Diego, California.
Frank Chambers met Howard Hughes when Chambers was about 14 years old. 20 years later, in the early 50's, he was speaking to Hughes by telephone. In that conversation, he made a complimentary remark about Terry Moore. Howard Hughes responded by saying "Yes, that's why I married her".
(Signed by Frank Chambers and a Notary Public)
