1946 FORD V8 CONVERTIBLE the guy I bought the car from in Montana said it ran good. That was in the late 1970's. The body was removed and the whole car was sandblasted and primed. The chassis was then painted black like original and the body was put back on the frame. After sandblasting none of the wiring was replaced so it never was run after that. The floors are very solid as the car apparently set on its top for many years in Montana. The windshield frame, the top of the quarters, doors, and above the trunk lid have rust through. See pictures. I installed a solid trunk lid off a 1946 ford coupe on this car. The right side behind the door has some rust through. The seller told me the whole front clip was off a 1946 Ford 4 door, and just has a little rust through on the bottom edge. Doors have a lot of dents. The car has a good top frame, it just needs a new front wooden header and they are reproduced. I have the complete top pump, switch and control with a new top knob that go with this car. I bought a very good convertible only rear seat for this car. A pair of vent window assembly's and a nice pair of side windows to go with this car. Looks like the original quarter window is on the left side and is just okay and I replaced the one for the right side. I bought a nice convertible only speedometer with only 4,884 miles and convertible only clock for this car. I installed NOS 1946 ford gauges. New convertible dash plastic and a NOS glove box "8" stainless molding. A bunch of other NOS and new and used parts go with the car. New hub caps are on the car. Nice radio with nice chrome face, and a bunch of other parts. The rear wheels do not turn now, maybe the drums are rusted to backing plates from sitting all these years. The right rear fender is off of another car. According to OLD CAR PRICE GUIDE this car in number one condition is a $52,000 car, in this condition with all these parts it is probably valued at about $15,000. Has a clear Wyoming title.
