Guardian Ware, AKA “Guardian Service” is a highly collectible, extremely durable, line of hammered aluminum cookware manufactured by the Century Metalcraft Corporation between 1933 and 1956. During its production years, sets cost approximately a month’s rent and were considered a “Lifetime Investment”. Although rare, due to nostalgia and enduring quality, complete sets today are valued at around $2,500 USD with pristine sets reaching even higher values.
Guardian Ware is famous for unparalleled even heating, due to its extremely thick hammered aluminum construction. Still versatile today, Guardian Ware can be used in/on any gas or electric stovetop or oven.
This Large pot measures 8” x 3-1/4” Deep. Like all Guardian Wear, it is way thicker and heavier than any pot of similar size made today.
For the serious collector: 1 - The bowl exhibits some minor to moderate scratching typical from normal use, which can easily be polished out. 2 - The base is dead flat with absolutely no wabble what-so-ever. 3 - The iconic Guardian Knight’s head makers mark is in pristine condition.
For the expert cook who simply wants a fast and incredibly even heating pot for everyday use (especially on smooth glass top electric stoves which demand a very smooth bottom) - you will absolutely love this piece.
