Responsibilities
• Safely operate buses and vans to transport senior residents within community facilities, medical appointments, shopping trips, and social outings
• Assist residents with boarding and disembarking, including wheelchair assistance and behavior management as needed
• Follow all traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations to ensure passenger safety at all times
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment
• Respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies with appropriate driving techniques and emergency response procedures such as emergency stops or vehicle control measures
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with residents, addressing their needs, and maintaining a friendly demeanor
• Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, passenger counts, and incident reports in accordance with company policies and state regulations
Minimum of 20 hours per week. Schedule can vary based on residents needs. Other job duties will be assigned when there are no transports.
