Beautiful ornate antique art deco style formal purse has elegant high couture styling.
Hardware is exquisite and highly detailed unlike other similar purses. Piece might be older than comparative offerings as hardware is intricately carved/detailed and back hinges are not perfectly round but rather flat, squished and oval. It appears to be hand hammered.
It is in good used condition with a wonderful vintage patina that makes this piece unique. Despite surface blemishes, it shows beautifully for age. As can be expected due to age, please note surface blemished, scratches and dents. The purse is not machine-made and not perfectly aligned. It requires both hands to adjust and pull top band so it will fit snuggly over the lower band.
The royal blue velvet lining does not perfectly cover the inside and in one small area (middle back bottom half) where it has stripped away from the inside reveals a yellowish/gold patina. The round ring that protrudes and holds the front clasp in place is ever so slightly skewed to the left.
It appears that one of the rings on the right side is missing, at some point in time the chain was re-attached without replacement of this ring.
Item girth measures 10.5" around the narrow part of the middle and about 10 1/4" in the vertical direction. 20.27.6
Measurements are 9" x 6.5" and the chain is 18" long.
