Oil painting depicting a street scene in Paris with the Eiffel Tower in the background. $360 or best offer
The painting captures a classic Parisian street view, likely from the early 20th century, given the style of clothing and the presence of horse-drawn carriages.
The Eiffel Tower, a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, is a prominent feature in the background. It was constructed for the 1889 World's Fair.
The Eiffel Tower is repainted every 7 years to protect it from rust. It has been various colors over the years, including ochre, brown, and silver.
The painting's style and subject matter are reminiscent of works by artists who saw the Eiffel Tower as a symbol of engineering and artistry.
