Hand-Pulled Thai Temple Rubbing – Celestial Musicians | Museum-Style Southeast - $123 (Downtown, Sacramento)
condition:
excellent
QR Code Link to This Post
Two heavenly musicians, one plucking a lute and the other holding a blossoming staff.
They sit cross-legged on lotus-petal bases in the style of the temple murals and stone reliefs of Thailand.
Every fine detail is captured:
jeweled crowns, layered collars, bracelets, and patterned skirts, in rich black on handmade mulberry-style paper.
Why you'll love it:
🎶 Serene, graceful subject, a conversation starter in any room
🖤 Bold black-on-cream contrast that fits modern, boho, eclectic, or Asian-inspired decor
📜 Real temple rubbing made by pressing paper onto carved stone and inking the relief, not a mass-produced print
🖼️ Comes unframed, so you can frame it however you like. A simple black or gold frame will make it look like a gallery piece.
Details:
• Size: about 17" x 17"
• Handmade paper mounted on rigid board
• Subject: two celestial musicians
(Thai temple art tradition)
• Great for meditation spaces, living rooms, offices, studios, or a gift
Condition (honest):
Vintage and well preserved.
The detail is strong and clear.
There's a small age spot at the top right, light corner wear, and old tape residue on the back from previous mounting.
All of this is shown in the photos.
