For Sale: Authentic 1800s John Jelliff Carved Walnut Parlor Chair
This is a genuine hand-carved John Jelliff parlor armchair from the 1800s, featuring exquisite walnut construction with burlwood panels and detailed hardwood inlays. Absolutely gorgeous with its rich green velvet upholstery – a real statement piece that turns heads.
I bought this beauty from the previous owner who inherited it. It was originally purchased in 1942 during WWII by his ex-mother-in-law from a woman in upstate New York. She kept it as a pure display/showpiece in her Brooklyn home hallway – never sat on once. It stayed in the same pristine condition when it came to me, and I’ve continued treating it as a decorative treasure.
Dimensions:
• 28 inches at the widest point (outer arms)
• 39 inches tall
• Seat is 24” deep, but due to the curved back it projects about 28” from the wall to the front edge of the seat
This chair is worth alot of money and here is a snippet from ai to prove its worth.
