This is an original ASCEND Communications long sleeve sweat shirt, that was given out to original employees. It is a size XL. The company was based out of Alameda California and was a manufacturer of computer communications equipment that was later purchased by Lucent Technologies. The company was originally taken public in 1994. It was founded by Jay Duncanson, Rob Ryan, Steve Speckenbach, and Jeanette Symons. Rob Ryan and Mory Ejabet were the CEO's. Some of the original investors were Greylock Partners and New Enterprise Associates. One of its most notable products was the MAX TNT, which helped revolutionize the growth of AOL, EarthLink, Demon Internet, and UUnet. In 1997 Ascend was acquired by Cascade Comminications. The company then acquired Stratus Computers. In 1999 Lucent Technologies bought Ascend Communications. The 24 Billion Dollar merger was the largest technology merger in history, up until that time(1999). This is a must have for anyone that is into tech collectibles.
