Ours is a purpose-built, craftsman-built, and highly art-centric auxiliary dwelling unit—formerly a 1995 International Harvester mid-size school bus.

Auxiliary Dwelling Unit

Our “cabin on wheels,” our auxiliary dwelling unit—somewhat like a trailer—is meant to be towed or pulled to your predetermined destination. Simply level it in place on a pad and you’re good to go. If, or when, you wish to move it elsewhere, simply arrange to have it pulled or towed.

Here are some things that make an auxiliary dwelling unit so very perfect:
• It’s an extra bedroom when guests come to visit.
• It’s a studio apartment you rent out to a college student or two.
• It’s an art or music studio right there in your back yard.
• It’s your tiny cabin, your sanctuary, your little “getaway” just up the hill from your main house.
• It’s you “tiny home” away from home inside your cavernous workshop, garage, or business facility.
• It’s your second office where you can leave everything out and not worry about cluttering up your home.
• It’s an additional space to accommodate the distance learners in your family.
• It’s another living/work space for your college daughter/son while home on break.

As currently configured, our cabin has no shower and no toilet. Why? Our intent has been to maximize living space.
