I picked this is up to clean it up and flip it. It needs a little more work than will make it worth my time to clean it up and sell it. It would however be worth fixing if you wanted to keep it and use it. I already have a horizontal saw I am happy with and therefore don't need this one.
The good: It is an Ellis and parts are readily available. Motor runs and blade goes around smoothly. It goes up and down, the downfeed cylinder is solid and the feed adjustment works fine.
The Bad: mostly revolves around the saw rotating for miter cuts. The bearings need to be replaced, there are 2 upper and 2 lower bearings. Upper channel needs some love as it is scarred a bit from an old bearing. The channel may need to be replaced. It is available as a replacement part. Past that it appears the bad is what you would expect from a saw that is 30 years old.
It think could be ran right now without issue for only 90 degree cuts. It will also do miter cuts because it still rotates but the bearing situation makes it a bit wonky. It comes with a clamp for the work piece, it appears to work but is not installed on the saw.
