This is not a camera that you would want for taking current-day photos. Pixel count is low. However, it is a camera that is very interesting for anyone who looks at the history of digital photography; a first-generation digital camera that you hold like a pair of binoculars!
There are two cameras being sold. Both appear to be fully working and included is one interface cord used to transfer pictures to a Windows PC. Pictures have been taken with both cameras and transferred to a computer.
Unfortunately, alkaline batteries were left in one of the cameras over the years and there is some corrosion on the metal in the battery compartment in that camera. Much of that has been cleaned out and batteries have been used in it recently, but it could still use a more complete cleaning in the battery compartment. The other camera has no battery corrosion.
The cameras have been recently used to take pictures (both indoors with flash and outdoors), transferring them to a Windows PC, and viewing them. All functions on the cameras LCD appear to be working as described in the User Manual.
The items provided are: two DC40 cameras, one Windows PC interface cord, and two CDROMS;
a copy of a CDROM that was originally included with camera purchase
and a CDROM that contains software obtained from the web:
Kodak Picture Transfer Application
Irfanview legacy 32Bit for older Windows systems
TWAIN driver for the camera (taken from the Kodak CDROM)
User Manual in PDF format (taken from the Kodak CDROM)
legacy software for an Insignia USB to Serial Adapter cable used recently for transferring images to a PC
ISO image file of the Kodak CDROM.
Also included is the original Kodak product box for one of the cameras, the original DC40 User Guide, the User Guide and QuickStart Guide for PictureWorks PhotoEnhancer software that came with a camera, and the original floppy disks of the PhotoEnhancer software (not sure if the disks can still be read)
