It's one thing to get the boat back to a man overboard. Getting the man back in the boat can be far more difficult, especially if the victim is unconscious. The Life Sling is the most compact, economical, and effective solid lifesaver unit on the high seas.
Was on a boat for a while but never actually used. Was taken out though and has a little wear as you can see from pictures.
Instructions do have water damage, most of the booklet can be read. I did print out multiple instructions that I could find as well.
From what I can tell, I could only find one area on the flotation device that has a few threads loose.
No strong smell or anything coming from the case/product.
** Difference between the discontinued original LifeSling1 vs their Lifesling2:
1. The original LIFESLING with 21 lbs of buoyancy, equipped with 150 feet of multi-filament
polypropylene floating line. Recommended for 30-80 ft sail and powerboats. Meets ORC/ISAF
Offshore Special Regulations (OSR) and is USCG approved as a Type V device. (NO LONGER
IN PRODUCTION - Replacement Storage Bags and Fiberglass Cases are still available).
2. The smaller, and less expensive LIFESLING 2 with 21 lbs of buoyancy, equipped with 125 feet
of multi-filament polypropylene floating retrieving line. Suitable for powerboats with a lifting point
10 ft above the water and sailboats over 20 ft LOA. Meets ISAF OSR and is USCG approved
(Type V which substitutes for a Type IV).
