I'm a drummer in my mid-40s looking to make some groove-oriented music: bluesy, funky with some rock and jazz influences. I enjoy playing musically and feeding off one another, with distinct tasteful solos, versus ultra-complex material or constant flashiness.
My influences span classic rock, drummers like Mitch Mitchell, to jazz-funk, including Billy Martin of Medeski Martin & Wood. I grew up playing classic rock, but I've been studying jazz more recently. I also play guitar and write songs, with a musical background beyond just drumming.
