We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Yard Jockey to support daily warehouse and distribution operations in Brownstown, MI. This position is responsible for safely moving trailers throughout the yard, positioning equipment at designated dock doors, and assisting with the movement of materials as needed. The ideal candidate has a valid CDL, previous yard jockey or trailer movement experience, and hands-on experience operating a gas-powered/propane sit-down forklift.
Responsibilities:
* Safely operate yard trucks to move and position trailers throughout the facility yard.
* Back trailers into and pull trailers away from designated dock doors.
* Perform trailer moves and yard checks while following established safety procedures.
* Operate a gas-powered/propane sit-down forklift to load, unload, and stage materials as needed.
* Maintain accurate communication with warehouse and transportation personnel regarding trailer locations.
* Conduct basic equipment inspections and report safety or maintenance concerns promptly.
Requirements:
* Valid CDL is required.
* Previous experience as a Yard Jockey, Yard Driver, Spotter, or similar role.
* Hands-on experience operating a gas-powered/propane sit-down forklift required.
* Ability to safely maneuver trailers in a busy warehouse yard.
* Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
* Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Schedule:
* 1st Shift | 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
* 2nd Shift | 3:00 pm - 11:30 am
Compensation:
* $25.00 per hour
