This is a circa 1987 Davidson Impulse (built in Seattle) updated with an 8 speed Shimano mixed STI drivetrain. The shifters are Sora (mismatched), the rear derailleur and cranks are Tiagra and the front derailleur and brakes are 600.
Shimano components of different tiers are designed to work with each other so the bike shifts and brakes remarkably well.
The stem is by Ritchey, handlebars by Bontrager. Seatpost is also by Ritchey. The wheels feature Mavic rims, Shimano hubs and Continental tires.
The bike includes a Silca pump with Campagnolo metal head painted to match the frame.
A surprisingly enjoyable bike that’s in need of a new home. Reasonable offers entertained.
