Reduced and dialed-in, no issues, a fun ride.
Don't pass on this one without a test ride first!
Update 5/26/2026.......upgraded the forks last night to a set of Marzocchi Bomber JT, Duel Crown, triple clamp forks with 140mm travel, air valve and full adjustment array including preload and recoil adjustments.
It's a Perfect full suspension DH MTB for Beginer or novice. Size M/L adult or a large teen. Can't go wrong and all upgrades have been done professionally.
Has a one of a kind paint job on it, also done professionally and the forks also have new paint and decals. The frame has absolutely no decals on it that is all hand painted with gold flake and Gloss khaki, it really is a fast bike, maneuverable, not heavy at all for a DH. I'll negotiate a little bit possibly but keep in mind that you're going to have to buy a nice thick lock cuz this one's nice enough that if you lock it up downtown for 5 minutes with a cheap lock, it'll be gone!
I've built well over 3000 bikes in my day and normally I mix and match frame sections to get the length, the height, and the overall feel that I'm looking for. Those bikes are what most people refer to as "Frankenstein" bikes and that's what I'm known best for.
My point is that it's not very often I can take a specific brand name Factoru bike (such as this) and compliment on how well it's balanced and how good it feels, or how well the length and responsiveness pairs up, straight from the factory, however......
This KHS xct-555 is one of those rare occasions where I can say it is a factory frame and it is a near perfect frame design in my opinion.
It's solid, it's very responsive and it just feels like you have all the control you could possibly want with this frame.
The upgraded forks and components compliment the frame design and performance while keeping the bike surprisingly light weight!
The photos truly do not do this bike Justice! Paint job is awesome, painted by hand and you should see it in the sunlight with the gold flake on there, it stands out beautifully, without being over the top.
If you're looking for a nice bike for a large teen or average size adult that's going to last you for a long time, not break the bank and hang with anything else out there, this is it!
If you Pass it up at this price without actually checking it out, you're crazy! And for the record if you go and buy these Forks brand new alone, they cost $1,200, the complete factory biult bike was originally $2,100 MSRP but it was never built or sold like this. So basically, it's like a $3300 bike that is basically brand new with custom paint and all the upgrades already done for you, at a awesome price. The reviews on Google for this particular frame model are excellent
MSRP new was $2100.00
