1998 F-150 Standard cab, 6’6” bed, 4WD with floor shifter, 4.6 V8. 280,000 miles.
Truck runs and drives quite well for a truck with 280,000 miles. Suspension and steering are tight with no noises. Transmission shifts solidly and 4wd works as it should in high and low range. Tires (Pathfinder AT- 3PeakMS rated) are almost new, as is the battery. The previous owner had a new radiator installed as well with new hoses.
Engine is likely original and it’s showing its age, but it sounds good and runs well. I have a smog cert from 9-7-26 in hand. Title is clean. Body and paint are pretty clean for an old truck, the hood has been primered but not painted by a previous owner. The pickup definitely has spent most of its life in a dry environment. The interior is in good shape for a 28 year old pickup.
AC does not work. Heater and fan work fine. Dash light bulbs were swapped at some point with blue leds’s by a previous owner and they flicker a bit. Current odometer reads 185,000 but a search of records shows the vehicle’s true mileage at around 270-280 thousand miles (gauge cluster was swapped sometime in 2022).
I like this truck and tend to drive it quite often, but I have 3 vehicles right now and one should be sold. On paper the price is a bit higher than comparable vehicles with similar miles... but the truck runs and drives very well and I'm in no hurry to sell it. So I'm not interested in lowball offers, although I will negotiate a bit if the buyer isn't an asshole about it.
