Hello, everyone!
I'm a piano, voice, and music theory teacher based in the Bay Area, California.
I'm looking for new piano students that wish to take lessons online/remotely.
I have taught piano for approximately 14 years. While I love teaching children, I have a special passion for teaching adults, as I myself started piano lessons when I was an adult before going to college for music. I know how it is managing lessons and practice times along with work as an adult!
While I am *not* a jazz pianist and am primarily trained classically, I *do* teach improvisation and playing by ear in my piano teaching practice (although a certain late-beginner level of proficiency in reading music is required in order for me to start teaching you improvisation).
I'm a positive and encouraging instructor; I can be a goof, so please be prepared to laugh now and again! I understand that every human being learns differently and I'm prepared to help you start your piano-learning journey. A lot of the students I have don't like a set-day for their lessons and often like to "play it by ear" (week by week) and schedule each lesson at different days and times depending on the week; although, of course, if you want a set day, we can see what is our availability and reserve a spot for you; I just like to tell my students that they have that freedom. I love questions and love it when my students like to nerd out on certain piano/music topics and curiosities. Reach out to me! You don't have to commit; you may call me and ask me anything you want before you schedule anything. :)
Skills I love to focus on:
-Classical and pop/folk music
-Improvisation
-Playing by ear
-Reading music and memorization
-Sight-reading
-Music theory
-Accompanying (for those who don't really care much about playing for themselves (nor solo repertoire) but are more interested on learning to play for others as accompanists)
*I can also assist in preparing you if you're someone who is looking to audition for a college/university program.

I'm offering an introductory lesson at a discounted price for you to see if I'm the right teacher for you!
Introductory lesson: 30$/a full hour
Regular lessons: 60$/hour or 30$/half-hour
While I am especially looking for adults at the moment, I am more than happy to teach your child! However, children require a different approach when it comes to online lessons and I am currently only open to teaching children around 9 years old and up; at this age, the child is more able to stay engaged; this is important because online lessons can be more distracting than in-person lessons for children that are younger. Many parents have brought me their child wanting them to take one-hour lessons, but please be prepared for me to suggest shorter lessons; each child is different and some children have a naturally-shorter attention span and shorter lessons may be necessary until the child develops their skills more; the intro lesson will allow me to assess their attention span :)

Send me an e-mail or call me if you're interested and ask me any questions you may have. Please text me or leave a voicemail if I'm unable to pick up. If you're an adult, give yourself a chance at the wonderful instrument that is the piano! Adults actually learn much faster than children do! :)
