Primary function is to provide direct/indirect support to the clinician in the delivery of patient care. Medical Assistant prepares the exam room, chart, and patient to be seen by clinician and performs/implements orders for diagnostic tests.
JOB DUTIES:
-Greets & escorts patient to exam rooms, takes vitals
-Minimize patient wait time. Prepares the patient and assists with exams/procedures when needed. Anticipate provider needs per patient's reason for visit
-Administers medications & injections as ordered by clinician
-Perform EKG, in-house CLIA-waived tests and phlebotomy
-Performs ear lavages and other urgent care clinical skills required as a Medical Assistant in a primary care/walk-in/urgent care clinic
-Schedule patients appropriately and other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
-Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
-Knowledge fo sterile technique and universal precautions, use of autoclave
-Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
-Knowledge of medical terminology and accepted medical abbreviations
