This is an original 1971 vintage Volkswagen 2-spoke steering wheel (black, cast 2-spoke center frame and hub assembly), commonly used on vehicles like the VW Beetle (Bug), Karmann Ghia, Type 3, or Type 2 Bus. The outer rim is wrapped in an aftermarket or period-correct perforated tan vinyl/leather lace-on cover. Good condition. The circular date stamp code – 121 - means the steering wheel was manufactured in a localized Wolfsburg or Emden factory in December 1971, and the “8” stamp denotes the casting mold cavity number.
