Southbend 10" Heavy Duty Bench Lathe and Clausing 1500 Series 1501 model Lathe. This means the 1501 swing is 15 inch and not 14 inch. Southbend is in very good condition with no signs of wear except for worn or chipped paint here or there and comes with Aloris AXA tool post, follow rest, steady rest, taper attachment and a 3 jaw chuck. Clausing needs some work but has great potential. Variable speed drive does not leak but needs to be cleaned, lubricated and serviced. The rack gearing has a section that was damaged and needs repairing or replacement. A person that can MIG can rebuild and reshape the few teeth that got damaged. No visible bed wear to speak of. Has new cross feed shaft and nut. If I was to keep it, I would replace the lead screw and half nut. But, they work. All wipers for bedways are missing and will need to be replaced. Has Buck 4 jaw chuck and a custom roller steady rest that I paid to have made and never used. Other tooling possibly available along with lathe(s) including a huge Buck 6 jaw chuck, collet set and closer mechanism. Purchase both at $7000 or $5000 for Southbend and $3000 for Clausing separately. I am open to offers but please, no low balling as I really dont want to let these gems go for nothing. I know when I checked the pricing for the 10" when they still made them, it was $10,000 base price. Yeah- Yikes! This was just the lathe with no tooling or taper attachment. Both machines are on trollies so can be rolled up onto a RAIL type lift gate with the side chains(larger deck than the Tommy tuck lift type). That is how I got them here. I would like to keep the wheels the Clausing is on but the deck can go. But, I am negotiable about it.
