When the hunt is over, preserve the memory with a professionally beetle-cleaned skull from Whispering Coyote Ranch.
We carefully clean skulls and other natural materials, transforming an important part of an animal into a lasting display piece. Whether you want to honor a memorable hunt, showcase a trophy, preserve a family tradition, or simply give an otherwise discarded part a second purpose, we provide careful, hands-on cleaning with an emphasis on preserving the natural character of the material.
Beetle Cleaning Only — No Degreasing
Our skull-cleaning process uses dermestid beetles to gently remove remaining tissue while helping preserve the natural structure, texture, and details of the skull.
We offer beetle cleaning only. We do not offer degreasing or whitening services.
Because we do not degrease skulls, the finished piece may retain some natural coloration, staining, or oils. This is part of the character of the material and reflects our specific cleaning process.
If you are looking for a fully whitened, bright-white, or professionally degreased skull, please be aware that those services are not included.
Bring It Frozen and Skinned for a Discount
To simplify preparation and reduce processing time, we offer a discount when you bring your skull fully prepared.
The sooner the material is properly prepared and frozen, the better. If you transport it frozen, please keep it securely sealed and contained.
Keeping the material cold helps protect it before cleaning and reduces the risk of spoilage, unpleasant odors, and staining. We are not responsible for blood staining.
If you’re unsure how to prepare or transport your skull, contact us before bringing it in. We’re happy to discuss preparation requirements.
Get a Discount for Usable Parts That Might Otherwise Be Discarded
We believe in making use of as much of the animal as possible.
You may receive a discount when you bring additional usable parts that might otherwise be thrown away. Depending on the animal, condition, and suitability, these may include:
* Ears
* Feet
* Hooves
* Vertebrae
* Ribs
* Jawbones
* Teeth
* Other bones
Some materials may be used for education, artistic projects, jewelry, preservation, display pieces, research, or other creative purposes.
Instead of becoming waste, these materials can be given a second purpose, and you may receive a discount toward your skull-cleaning service in return.
All additional materials must be reasonably fresh, properly handled, and suitable for cleaning, preservation, or another intended use. Materials that are rotten, excessively decomposed, contaminated, or otherwise unsuitable may not be accepted.
Whispering Coyote Ranch reserves the right to determine whether donated or discounted materials are suitable for our purposes.
