Is there anybody that does a simple leak detection on automobile AC out there? I am new to the state, and so far I have gotten the same troubleshooting method: Bring it in, fill it full of freon, drive it for a week, bring it back and we will look for the leak $200-$300. Where I came from they put the hi and low pressure gauges in the system, checked the compressor, then shot dye into the system, found the leak and advised on cost. 15 minutes, in and out, $50.00. Is that not done here? If you do that I would like to have my car checked for leaks.
