This table was originally owned by a self-professed local minister from Val Verde County TX., home of the "hanging Judge) Roy Bean. When the minister moved on, the table became property of the undertaker where it was used daily. Sometime in the early 1900's, the then current owner moved his household, including table, "West" eventually being transported to the Inland Northwest. At an estimated age of 100-150 yrs old, this is a true antique with an unsubstantiated legacy.
Measuring 48" round, it sports a solid oak top and pedestal with massive carved feet. It is presumed the leaf (s) and chairs were lost in the travels from Texas to INW.
The table has been completely stripped of all previous finishes, sanded and topped off with a hand rubbed Danish oil, leaving some of life's historic scars. Finally, a liquid satin wax was applied to protect the new finish. New wood casters aged to period perfection adding to the standard height of 29-30 inches. Currently available and ready for immediate use. Asking $425.00 but always willing to listen to your ideas. Wouldn't it be fun to muse how the "hanging judge" may have dined at this very table?
