I have a GORGEOUS solid wood, carved Jacobean Style box.

I am uncertain of the age. I am guessing it is a minimal of mid century (1960s/70s) but it could be earlier.

I found it in pieces from a fellow selling me several things. It had been "antique painted) in the 1970s when they would paint something an earth tone and then wipe stain over it, reminiscent of grain painting.

We put it all back together with new brass hardware and catch chain.

The exterior was done in a gloss black lacquer, the interior in a vibrant Chinese red.

This box is truly an eye catcher.

Dimensions of the box are:

18 inches wide
13 inches deep
10 inches tall
