I believe this table was made for a heavy industrial Lolipop Scale. It was certainly made to support a VERY HEAVY piece of industrial machinery.
The gauge of metal and the solid slab oak top (which is painted black) would be the gauge of steel and width of butcher block top used on tables that were 6'w X 3'd X 29"t. this table is a fraction of that size.
As mentioned, the table is constructed of heavy gauge steel, painted a shade of grade. The table has a sliding drawer with a bake-a-lite Art Deco Style handle and has rubber surround bumpers on each leg.
In addition, there are 3 strechers conecting each legt on either side and one final stretcher across the back, made from the same bent high gauge steel. Yet AGAIN a sign that this table was made to bear extreme weight conditions--ESPECIALLY for it's size.
There are four stanless bolts which serve as feet at the bottom of this table wich could be be replaced with threaded feet (depending on the venue you will use the table).
The oak butche block top is around 2 inches thick.
This is TRULY an EXTREMELY well made table, custom made to bear any weight you may wish to place on it. THE EPITOME OF THE DEFINITION OF INDUSTRIAL MODERN.
