We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Stone Mason to complete custom exterior stonework for a residential property. The primary scope of work involves constructing structural/decorative quarter-height walls (sitting walls) around a patio and wrapping existing exterior structural columns with stone veneer or full stone. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with stone selection, mortar mixing, and precision cutting to deliver a clean, durable, and cohesive outdoor living space.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience: Proven track record as a stonemason, specifically with outdoor residential features like patio walls, retaining walls, and architectural columns.
• Technical Skill: Deep knowledge of layout, string lines, leveling tools, and different stone bond patterns.
• Equipment Proficiency: Safe and precise operation of masonry saws, grinders, chisels, and mixing equipment.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials (stones, mortar bags) up to 50 lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Detail-Oriented: Ability to neatly finish joints (pointing) and select stones that complement the home's existing aesthetic.
