PacWhale Eco-Adventures, the ecotour fleet of Pacific Whale Foundation, is hiring a full-time Captain to command our vessels out of Māʻalaea and Lāhainā Harbors.
If you're a seasoned mariner who knows Maui Nui's waters and wants your work to mean something for the ocean, come sail with us.
Pay: Starting pay is $32.00/hr. Your actual rate depends on experience, and you also earn commissions and tips.

The role:
Command the vessel under sail and power, delivering safe snorkel, whale watch and sunset cruises
Keep vessel and crew in full USCG compliance, and lead a culture of safety
Lead and mentor crew, and set the tone for every trip
Partner with our team on a place-based, regenerative guest experience
Oversee daily vessel inspections and maintenance, and handle repairs as needed
Requirements:
USCG 100-Ton Master's License with Sail Endorsement
Current USCG medical certificate, TWIC card, and Marine Radio Operator's Permit
General trouble shooting and preventative maintenance experience
Sail rigging maintenance experience
Strong swimmer, able to free dive to 30'
Able to work long days (12+ hrs) aboard a moving vessel
Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, and join the USCG random testing program
Strongly preferred
Experience sailing from Māʻalaea and around Maui Nui
Familiarity with snorkel charters around Maui Nui
