What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a mature, trustworthy, considerate individual who enjoys helping others and would feel comfortable sharing a home with two seniors.
The ideal person has some experience with caregiving or helping older adults but does not necessarily need formal healthcare training.
Experience assisting family members, working as a home health aide, providing companionship, or supporting older adults with everyday activities would be helpful.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is dependable, patient, respectful, and interested in a positive, long-term living arrangement.
How You Would Help
The resident helper would provide non-medical assistance, including:
Driving the seniors to appointments, shopping, errands, and activities
Preparing basic meals and cleaning up afterward
Helping with laundry and light household cleaning to keep spaces tidy.
Providing routine assistance with walking, standing, and mobility, within your training and abilities
Communicating any important safety or health-related concerns to the family
This is a caregiving role, not simply a room rental. The resident must be willing and able to provide dependable assistance as part of the arrangement.
Schedule and Personal Time
The general schedule involves:
Monday–Friday: Daytime and evening assistance
Saturday–Sunday: Evening assistance only, with both days free during daytime hours
Both seniors are fairly independent but need occasional monitoring and assistance.
We understand the importance of personal time, privacy, and having a comfortable living environment.
Specific responsibilities, compensation, and personal time will be clearly agreed upon before moving in.
Basic Requirements
Some prior caregiving, senior support, or related experience preferred
Valid driver’s license
Reliable personal vehicle and current auto insurance
Dependable, mature, patient, and considerate
Comfortable assisting older adults with everyday activities
Respectful of privacy, shared living spaces, and household routines
Able to provide references and complete an appropriate background check
Interested in living in the home for approximately one year or longer
Formal caregiver certification is a plus, but not required.
Initial Trial Period
We would like to begin with a mutually agreed one-month introductory period to ensure the living arrangement and caregiving responsibilities are a good fit for everyone.
