Power trio looking to fill out the lineup - ideally looking for keys (esp. hardware synth), horns, percussion (vibraphone???), but open to other instruments. We're three guys ranging from early 30s to early 40s, though we are open to a broader age range. Open to folks of any demographic as long as you're a decent person and good communicator. Having decent gear, a flexible-ish schedule, and reliable transportation are also pretty important.
Sonically, we're pulling from the worlds of post-rock (Tortoise, toe., Do Make Say Think, And So I Watch You From Afar), math rock (Elephant Gym, Polvo, Don Caballero), modern krautrock (Cave, Minami Deutsch, Horse Lords), heavy psych (Slift, King Buffalo, Kikagaku Moyo, King Gizzard, L'Eclair), and "jazz-adjacent" (Surprise Chef, Trioscapes, Yussef Dayes/Yussef Kamaal). Big big love for Boards of Canada. Obviously not a totally exhaustive list of influences but hopefully that gets you in the orbit. Theory knowledge is good but patience and a good ear are also super important in this context.
Right now our arrangements definitely lean more "rock and roll" than where we'd like them to end up, but that's where the instrumentation pulls them presently. We have some demos to share, great if you have samples of your playing as well.
