2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab, 5.7 Hemi, canopy, $3,500
This truck has lived a life. It has opinions. Some of them are dents.
What it DOES have: a 5.7 Hemi that starts right up and wants to work, a solid frame with no major rust, a non-matching canopy missing the rear glass, full rear doors, all-terrain tires with plenty of tread left, and a clean title. 217,399 miles of experience you can't teach.
And receipts. About $3,700 of shop work in 2022, roughly 16k miles ago:
- Reman alternator, belt, tensioner, idler pulley
- Thermostat, radiator hoses, coolant reservoir, radiator cap
- Both front wheel hub bearings
- Front brakes: rotors, calipers, pads
- Driver side tie rod ends
- New ignition switch, new wiper motor
- Battery disconnect switch installed
What it's NOT: pretty. If you want a show truck, keep scrolling. If you want a truck you can throw firewood in without flinching, hello.
The honest list:
- OPEN TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL (driver and passenger). Free dealer repair scheduled for mid-November. If it sells first, the recall transfers with the VIN and any Ram dealer fixes it free, including towing.
- Parasitic battery drain, cause unknown. We use a hard-wired trickle charger to keep it topped off .
- Check engine light on, long-standing, code not read
- AC blows, just not cold. Shop noted a broken blend door in the heater box.
- Needs an alignment
- Radio unplugged
- Power locks retired; manual locks still employed
- Climate control panel loose
- Body: dents in both bed sides and tailgate, scrapes, peeling clear coat on hood, grille has seen things
- A-pillar trim missing, rock chip in windshield
Work truck, farm truck, dump runs, project truck, first truck for someone handy. Priced for exactly what it is.
