In excellent condition. Only used in my home. Looks, sounds, and plays great. I just never used it as much as I thought I would. Includes a well-fitted Gator hard-shell case. New price is $799 with no case or bag.
Not sure if it shows in the photos, but the finish on the top is remarkably thin for poly – you can actually see the top grain through the finish, as is usually the case only with nitro lacquer.
Another nice feature of this model is the arched back, which allows Guild to dispense with bracing, resulting in a much livelier sound. I think in many instances (including the American-made models of the 70s, like the G-37), they actually sound better than similar models with solid back and sides.
(Note that the photos show gold strap-lock buttons – I’ll will reinstall the original chrome ones before delivery.)
From some slick online description:
Get rich, full low tone with the BT-240E Baritone Acoustic-electric Guitar from Guild. This F-Jumbo body acoustic features
rosewood back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top for a stunning blend of low end and midrange that also delivers incredible projection and giant volume — unplugged or amplified. Featuring two extra strings, the BT-258E is tuned to B-E-a-A-d-D-F#-B — five steps down from standard tuning. When strummed or picked, this deep-voiced acoustic makes a wonderful accompaniment guitar for almost any ensemble, adding a unique sonic dimension to any mix. A mahogany neck with pau ferro fingerboard offers outstanding playability and response. And when you plug in, a Guild/Fishman Sonitone GT-1 with volume and tone controls ensure pristine, authentic baritone acoustic tone.
I would just add that I frequently tune it down a full-step, A-A, and even to double-drop-G, and it never buzzes, and transitions between B-B & A-A with no adjustment necessary.
