This exquisite Berkey & Gay carved oak console and mirror was created between 1900 ands 1920. It has been part of my family for nearly a century. The piece originally belonged to my grandmother, who moved westward in the early 1900, bringing her good upbringing and good taste with her. She believed deeply that a home should be a place of refinement and chose only pieces that reflected craftsmanship, character, and permanence.
For as long as I remember, this console and mirror stood in the living room, across from the front door. Over the years, it defined her home…solid oak, deeply carved, elegant yet sturdy— much like grandmother. When I inherited it, I placed it where I would see it every day, because it reminded me of my heritage.
Now, it is time to pass it along to someone who will appreciate it and loves that unmistakable Berkey & Gay presence and craftsmanship. I hope it finds a home where its story will continue.
